Investments in renewable energies

Since 2003, KGAL ’s infrastructure unit has focused on investments in the renewable energy of solar and wind. During this period, it has commissioned for its investors 47 solar parks in Germany and abroad, 33 wind farms and one solar thermal plant. In terms of the portfolio size and invested equity, it is one of Germany’s largest and most experienced providers.

Now – is the optimal time to invest in renewable energy: Global demand is increasing. Supplies of fossil fuels are limited. Technological and economic development makes renewable energies the irrefutable foundation for the future supply of our energy.

Opening up further areas

Solar energy production has become a significant issue. Solar power can be economically used by photovoltaic systems (which convert radiant energy directly into electrical energy) and solar thermal systems (which convert radiant energy into heat and subsequently into electricity). To achieve the energy turnaround, the generating capacity of wind power has to be expanded greatly. Therefore, KGAL has continued to increase its investment in this area.
