Solar energy production has become a significant issue. Solar power can be economically used by photovoltaic systems (which convert radiant energy directly into electrical energy) and solar thermal systems (which convert radiant energy into heat and subsequently into electricity). To achieve the energy turnaround, the generating capacity of wind power has to be expanded greatly. Therefore, KGAL has continued to increase its investment in this area.

In 2012, KGAL achieved a placement result of EUR 405.7 million. The most demand was seen for renewable energy investments in the infrastructure asset category, accounting for EUR 258.3 million in total. As a result, we are ranked number one regarding energy funds in the industry statistics of the German Association of Non-Tradeable Closed-End Funds (VGF) based on VGF industry data for 2012. We thank our investors for this result!
