KGAL, the Premier Group and its service provider ELMYA implemented the project development step by step, from securing the land to the feasibility study, environmental permits, building applications and construction through to completion. The added value of the investment is correspondingly high – despite challenges in planning and construction. \u201cWith projects of this size, you always face difficult tasks at some point,\u201d explains Fabio Garcia, Transaction Manager at KGAL. \u201cIn the case of \u2018San Fernando\u2019, for example, we had to lay a connecting cable several kilometers long underground to the transformer station and tunnel under a train line and a motorway, among other things.\u201d<\/p>\n
All the hurdles have now been overcome and the solar park, with its 47 megawatts of capacity, is feeding electricity into the Spanish grid at currently attractive market prices. The calculated output is enough to supply around 35,000 people with green electricity.<\/p>\n
The \u2018San Fernando\u2019 solar park will be supplemented by a wind farm, which is currently under development. Both parks can share the infrastructure, which leads to synergies.<\/p>\n
In addition, KGAL and ELMYA are currently building two further solar parks in C\u00f3rdoba, Spain, each with an output of 45 MWp.<\/p>\n

The renewable energy fund KGAL ESPF 4 has connected the \u2018San Fernando\u2019 solar park with a capacity of 47 MWp to the power grid in the province of C\u00e1diz, southern Spain. With more than 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, the region has the highest level of solar radiation in Spain.
