KGAL ESPF 6 Fund and PtX Development expand Lubmin hydrogen platform with majority stake in Lhyfe`s project

KGAL ESPF 6 Fund and PtX Development are further strengthening their joint green hydrogen platform in Lubmin, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Through the acquisition of a majority stake in Lhyfe’s green hydrogen project, the partners are expanding the Lubmin platform to a potential hydrogen production capacity of up to 1,700 megawatts. At full capacity, the total Lubmin project could achieve an annual hydrogen output of up to 160,000 tonnes, making it potentially the largest hydrogen project in Germany.

KGAL ESPF 5 invests in a German battery storage project developed by FENECON

The renewable energy fund KGAL ESPF 5 has invested in a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Grevesmühlen, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The battery storage facility is located in the immediate vicinity of a substation and is nearing completion. Commissioning is scheduled for mid-2026. The seller and future partner is the medium-sized company FENECON, which will continue to develop the project until completion and subsequently take over its operation.

KGAL acquires leading local retail centre near Rotterdam

KGAL Investment Management has acquired its third local retail centre in the Netherlands for a European real estate fund. The highly frequented “Carnisse Veste” centre in Barendrecht, on the southern edge of Rotterdam, is fully leased and comprises 40 rental units covering 16,295 square meters. It also has a covered car park with 470 parking spaces. The seller of the property is PingProperties.

KGAL benefits from the 2025 market recovery – 2026 set to become a “Year of Change” for real assets

KGAL once again achieved a clearly positive result in the 2025 financial year. The Munich-based specialist in real assets outperformed the previous year, raising around €400 million in equity and increasing its new business volume to almost €1.7 billion. Two funds with a total equity of €550 million were extended for five years, underlining the strong trust among institutional clients. A positive turnaround is emerging in the real asset markets, and 2026 has the potential to become a real “Year of Change”.

KGAL Investment Management has acquired a wind farm in northwestern Germany for an institutional fund mandate. The project involves the repowering of the site, with a future total capacity of 14 megawatts (MW). Completion is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026. The seller is Energiequelle GmbH.
