KGAL strengthens Sustainable Infrastructure team with Christian Topp

KGAL is further expanding its Sustainable Infrastructure team. Christian Topp joined the team as Senior Director Institutional Business at the beginning of September. The renowned infrastructure expert was previously employed by Swiss Life Asset Managers and Allianz Capital Partners.

Christian Topp has more than 25 years’ experience in energy transition and infrastructure investments. Prior to Swiss Life Asset Managers, he was responsible for developing the third-party infrastructure client business at Allianz Capital Partners. Christian Topp, a graduate engineer in energy and process engineering, holds a Master’s degree from Cambridge University and an MBA from London Business School.

Carolin Vormann, Head of Institutional Business at KGAL, welcomes Christian to the team: “The sustainable infrastructure asset class, which we make accessible to institutional investors with our new ESPF 8 Fund focusing on European renewable energies, offers attractive investment opportunities on the path to climate neutrality. Christian’s extensive experience – both in the field of energy infrastructure and in individual customer care – will further enhance our consulting expertise.”

KGAL is a pioneer in renewable energy infrastructure investment. The company has been implementing solar and wind farms in Europe since 2003. In addition, the goal is to provide institutional investors with access to innovative technologies including green hydrogen and battery storage. KGAL is also responsible for managing KfW’s PtX development fund for investments in non-European hydrogen projects.
